Democracy in the Dark

Roger Ebert has posted a fascinating system for anyone who wishes to attempt "read a movie" in a classroom setting. One man referred to the process as "Democracy in the dark." I'd love to try something like this in my freshman literature class, but I have no idea what film to use. A few great films come to mind, such as this, this and this, but I'd love to hear your suggestions. I'm all ears.

Today I received an email from a researcher from The Newseum. The Newseum bills itself as an "interactive museum of news." The coolest thing about their website is the daily exhibit of front-pages from newspapers around the world. They also...Continue reading "Museum wants a piece of BrookSpeak"
